Privacy Policy — SureVera

1. Introduction

SureVera is a product of Arrio Technologies LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). SureVera is a mobile application that displays official government health inspection grades for restaurants and hotels across the United States. We are committed to respecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle data.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. SureVera is designed to work without requiring any account creation or personal information.

      The short version: SureVera does not require an account, does not collect your name or email, does not track you, and does not sell any data. We only use your location (with your permission) to find nearby restaurants and hotels, and your push token (if you enable notifications) to send grade-change alerts.
    

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

None required. SureVera does not require account creation. We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.

Device information

Push notification token: If you enable notifications, your device generates an Expo push notification token. This is an anonymous identifier used solely to deliver grade-change notifications to your device. It is not linked to your name, email, or any personal identity.

Location data

GPS coordinates: When you search for nearby restaurants or hotels, we request your device's location. This data is sent to our servers to find restaurants and hotels in your area. Location access is only used when you explicitly grant permission through your device's operating system.

Usage data

Favorites: Restaurants and hotels you mark as favorites are stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to your favorites list.
Follows: Restaurants and hotels you follow for grade-change notifications are stored on our servers, linked to your anonymous push token.

Subscription data

In-app subscriptions: Subscription and trial management is handled by RevenueCat. We do not directly collect, process, or store any payment information such as credit card numbers or billing addresses. Please refer to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.

3. How We Use Your Information

Location: To find restaurants and hotels near you. Your GPS coordinates are used to query our database in real time. Location data is not stored permanently on our servers.
Push notification tokens: To send you grade-change notifications for restaurants and hotels you follow. Tokens are stored on our servers linked only to the establishments you follow — not linked to any personal identity.
Favorites: Stored locally on your device to let you quickly access restaurants you have saved. We cannot access your favorites.
Follows: Stored on our servers, linked to your anonymous push token, so we can notify you when an establishment's health inspection grade changes.

4. Information We Do NOT Collect

      SureVera is built on a principle of minimal data collection. We believe you should be able to check health inspection grades for restaurants and hotels without sacrificing your privacy.
    

We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information.
We do not store your browsing history or search history on our servers.
We do not use analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, advertising identifiers, or any third-party tracking tools.
We do not sell, share, or rent any user data to third parties.
We do not serve advertisements or use ad-related SDKs.

5. Third-Party Services

SureVera relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each of these services may collect their own data according to their respective privacy policies:

6. Data Storage and Security

Local data: Favorites, theme preferences, onboarding status, and your push token are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device (except for the push token, which is sent to our server if you enable notifications).
Server-side data: Push notification tokens and restaurant follow records are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway's infrastructure in the United States.
Encryption in transit: All communication between the SureVera app and our servers uses HTTPS (TLS encryption).
Location data: GPS coordinates are used in real time for searches and are not stored permanently on our servers.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have control over the data SureVera accesses:

Disable location access: Revoke location permission in your device's Settings app at any time. The app will still work — you can search by city name instead of using GPS.
Disable notifications: Revoke notification permission in your device's Settings app, or unfollow individual restaurants or hotels within the app.
Delete follows: Unfollow restaurants in the app to remove the associated follow data from our servers.
Delete local data: Clear the app's data in your device settings or simply uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data.
Delete all server-side data: Use the "Delete My Data" button in the app's Help screen to instantly and permanently delete all server-side data associated with your device, including your device registration, all follows, notification history, and city requests. This action is immediate and cannot be undone. Your locally saved favorites are not affected.

8. Children's Privacy

SureVera is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. Since SureVera does not collect personal information and requires no account, there is no way for a child to provide identifiable data. Any server-side data can be permanently deleted at any time using the "Delete My Data" button in the app's Help screen.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your privacy.
